Abby Reale

Abby Reale is a seasoned government affairs professional with more than 14 years of experience at the intersection of public policy, regulatory strategy, and stakeholder engagement. She currently serves as Senior Advisor for Government Affairs at FirstEnergy, where she advocates for strategic initiatives that advance the company’s objectives while supporting the long-term success of the communities it serves across West Virginia.

Throughout her career, Abby has built a strong reputation for developing effective advocacy strategies, cultivating broad-based coalitions, and engaging policymakers at all levels of government. Her experience spans multiple industries, including healthcare and energy, where she has represented Fortune 500 companies and major organizations in complex legislative and regulatory environments.

Prior to joining FirstEnergy, Abby served as Director of Government and External Affairs at Marshall Health Network, where she worked closely with senior leadership to develop and implement legislative, regulatory, and community engagement strategies. In that role, she oversaw key projects, managed government affairs contracts, and led initiatives addressing social determinants of health. That experience strengthened her ability to navigate regulatory frameworks while driving meaningful policy outcomes.

Abby’s transition to the energy sector represents an important next chapter in her career. She brings a collaborative and proactive approach to legislative advocacy and strategic regulatory engagement, grounded in innovation and a deep understanding of the legislative process.

She holds a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from Marshall University and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from West Virginia University. Abby is committed to building partnerships, advancing initiatives, and delivering results that benefit both the organizations she represents and the broader community.
